Southington, CT- Mazzarella Media, award-winning educational media producer, has signed a new agreement with Discovery Education renewing their existing licensing agreement and expands it to include hundreds of titles from Mazzarella Media’s new series “Science Video-Vocab”. The new agreement also extends the licensing period of all titles through October 31, 2020.
Discovery Education is one of the main providers of Mazzarella Media’s educational video content via digital streaming directly to millions of students across North America. Mazzarella Media’s Non-Profit partners “Passport to Education” are finalists in American Airlines & Startup America’s “Flights, Camera, Action” contest. If our video gets the most user votes we’ll receive 80 free flights to the regions of Africa we serve to open and facilitate schools as well as shoot video content to educate western students and raise funds to further our cause. Mazzarella Media just completed an exciting project working with John Tartaglia, director of the new musical “Because of Winn-Dixie” producing a five-minute promotional video to raise funding for the Broadway Musical.
The new musical Based on Kate DiCamillo’s children’s novel of the same title, the musical has music by Tony winner Sheik (Spring Awakening) and book and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Benjamin (Legally Blonde). Gerald Goehring and Michael F. Mitri, along with Dorothy Berloni, produce the musical that has been characterized as the first Broadway production to star an actual pooch in the title role. In June, Mazzarella Media President Tony Mazzarella Sr traveled to Tanzania, Africa on a humanitarian trip to visit a school established by Passport to Education, a non-profit for which Mr. Mazzarella sits on the Board of Directors. To help achieve fundraising goals for the organization to further the development of Zariki Nursery & Primary School and to open other schools like it, providing the children of Africa the education they need to create a brighter more self-sufficient future. In a new initiative, Passport to Education will produce educational programming for western students exploring many facets of life in Africa. Proceeds from the distribution of this new educational content will directly fund Passport to Education initiatives which include expanding enrollment and opening new schools in other parts of the country and continent.
