DISCOVERY EDUCATION AND MAZZARELLA MEDIA EXPAND DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT

Southington, CT- Mazzarella Media, award-winning educational media producer, has signed a new agreement with Discovery Education renewing their existing licensing agreement and expands it to include hundreds of titles from Mazzarella Media’s new series “Science Video-Vocab”. The new agreement also extends the licensing period of all titles through October 31, 2020.

Discovery Education is one of the main providers of Mazzarella Media’s educational video content via digital streaming directly to millions of students across North America. In the area of digital content streaming, Discovery Education is an industry leader in delivering high quality, dynamic, and on-demand video to schools.

Mazzarella Media’s new Video-Vocab Series will be featured on Discovery Education starting this school year (2012 – 2013). According to Anthony Mazzarella, President of Mazzarella Media, the live action Video-Vocab programs incorporate many research-based learning strategies that have been proven to help students learn and retain vocabulary. Each video features a wide variety of video footage, photographs, diagrams and colorful, animated graphics and labels. Each program complies with national and state curriculums and emerging standards-based learning initiatives.

With the beginning of the school year nation-wide, Discovery and Mazzarella Media will release eighty-four K-12 Science programs first series of Video-Vocab collection. The content offerings will be expanded exponentially heading into Q1 of next year and beyond. Each topic is presented in both English and Spanish language versions.

This new agreement reaffirms a decade long relationship between two leaders in the education market, ensuring the continued expansion of content offerings to K – 12 students across the US and Canada.

Mazzarella Media’s Non-Profit partners “Passport to Education” are finalists in American Airlines & Startup America’s “Flights, Camera, Action” contest. If our video gets the most user votes we’ll receive 80 free flights to the regions of Africa we serve to open and facilitate schools as well as shoot video content to educate western students and raise funds to further our cause. Promotional Video for Non-Profit ELITE Complete

Mazzarella Media collaborates with Broadway Vets… and Pets.

Mazzarella Media just completed an exciting project working with John Tartaglia, director of the new musical “Because of Winn-Dixie” producing a five-minute promotional video to raise funding for the Broadway Musical.

The new musical Based on Kate DiCamillo’s children’s novel of the same title, the musical has music by Tony winner Sheik (Spring Awakening) and book and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Benjamin (Legally Blonde). Gerald Goehring and Michael F. Mitri, along with Dorothy Berloni, produce the musical that has been characterized as the first Broadway production to star an actual pooch in the title role.

Mazz Media President Visits Students in Tanzania

In June, Mazzarella Media President Tony Mazzarella Sr traveled to Tanzania, Africa on a humanitarian trip to visit a school established by Passport to Education, a non-profit for which Mr. Mazzarella sits on the Board of Directors. To help achieve fundraising goals for the organization to further the development of Zariki Nursery & Primary School and to open other schools like it, providing the children of Africa the education they need to create a brighter more self-sufficient future. In a new initiative, Passport to Education will produce educational programming for western students exploring many facets of life in Africa. Proceeds from the distribution of this new educational content will directly fund Passport to Education initiatives which include expanding enrollment and opening new schools in other parts of the country and continent.

In its pursuits to aid students and educators around the globe, Mazzarella Media is providing much of the multimedia and branding support for this Non-Profit organization, including a newly produced promotional video and the commissioning of the organizations brand design and website which are due to be completed sometime this fall.
